Marty Blecman

Martin Sander Blecman moved in 1972 from Elyria, OH to San Francisco and started as a DJ in 1974. He co-founded the Bay Area Disco Dee Jay Assn. (BADDA) in 1976 and a year later started The Disco Technique together with John Hedges doing Disco D.J. Training and Consulting. Also in 1977 he became DJ in Alfie’s in San Francisco. In 1978 he started doing work for Fantasy Records and founded Blecman & Hedges Productions with John Hedges. In 1979 he was DJ at K101-FM and in 1981 he founded together with Patrick Cowley the record label Megatone Records. He produced and remixed releases from Fever, Patrick Cowley and Sylvester among others. Marty died of AIDS on September 20, 1991.
